Spooky Night
I finally got around to watching Gus Van Sant's film Elephant. That got me interested in visiting Columbine again. That lead me to looking at sites about the two shooters at Columbine High School, Harris and Klebold. I read some recent studies about the environment at that school, the autopsy report on the killers, and much more. Assuming the two killers were rational at some time in life, and I wondered about them and how, in general, the rational become irrational and violent. I wasted time watching Bowling for Columbine, but came away with two questions: why are we the violent nation, and what shade of yellow is Michael Moore's journalism.
I spent the whole day reading about that shooting, and you know what? I had a hard time going to sleep that night. I couldn't get Klebold and Harris out of my thoughts, and kept seeing them walking around the cafeteria in the surveillance video. I was sure I would have a nightmare where I was in the school with them.
I suppose being creeped out by all of that is a good sign.
