Tolkien wrote "not all who wander are lost," a phrase often taken out of context, misunderstood, and misused. I have no intention of breaking with tradition.
The wandering is internal and external, there is both the maze of the mind and the warren of life. Life has one exit, and to hurry toward it is foolish, so there is only the journey; wisdom gained from failure, experiences altering the path taken, and other travelers met along the way.
Some of those travelers have tales of where they've been that illuminate our own, give reason to reflect and consider our journey thus far. My past has been along a darker path, lit by moonlight instead of bright sun and bold colors, but I don't mind. Some might say this is this is wrong, weird or just plain spooky; I'm not altered for the worse, and there is no one path for everyone. If asked how my perspective, and, maybe, that of other travelers, got the way it is, I will reply, "This is the night, what it does to you."
