Lemonade

Here is something that, right now, seems obvious, but it didn't come to mind for a long time. Too long.

I've said before that work is a drag. Mind numbing. Boring. But I have a fix. Something to make me grateful for those long moments of mindlessness.

I've found some treasures at the library; books on CD. I've known about audio books for years, but never gave it much thought until now. What I'm interested in is not bestsellers, but academic subjects. Let me mention a few titles: The Giants of Russian Literature: Turgenev, Dostoevsky, Tolstoy, and Chekhov; Classical Mythology; Mythology and the Individual (a series of lectures by Joseph Campbell).

Never thought I could learn while doing something dumb, but that's one of The Plant's many dichotomies.
