It's our holiday again!
I've been waiting a whole year for this day! In the past month, people from many a blog site have wished us a happy new year. Many posted about the great feast of materialism (and family time, wich I enjoy) called Christmas. While I kind of blow off those holidays, this is one I pay attention to. It's Martin Luther King Jr Day, and if you haven't done something special, shame on you. So far, my achievement is 12 hours of work at time and a half. Hee Hee! Of course, our gracious and progressive income tax system will aid me in redistributing my booty to those not as fortunate as I am. Ho Ho! But this day is about something far greater than the almighty buck. I'm going to settle down for a sip of Woodford Reserve and get serious. It is time for reflection on the meaning of this holiday.
First off, do not consider what color I am. It does not matter today. It shouldn't matter on any day, and neither should yours. I'm attentive to this holiday because its meaning, unlike the others, gets to the core of humanity. I've seen a lot of humanity's shortcomings, and I've seen them in all races, religions, and nationalities. If there ever was a holiday that stood as a reminder of what we should strive to be, it is this one. Let's remember that the dream is for "All of God's children" to live together, so as I wrote before, this holiday is for you.

Very well said!
May we all see the vision of Dr. King to come to fruition in the future.
