The Nomad
Both of my natures agree on one thing. We would like to get rid of everything, quit our job, and head for parts unknown. But, having a roof over our head and food every day are the highest priority, so that won't happen.
I read about someone who decided to get a low end job and live in a trailer, and that started to sound good. I've also had thoughts of a VW bus. Where would I go? What would I do? It's not practical, but it feels wrong staying in the same place and working the same job year after year. I should be looking for another house, but I don't want to. If there is one institution I am fearfully loyal to it's the mortgage company, and I don't want to be tied down like that again. I would rather blow into town with a dust storm and leave the same way like John Wayne did in The Searchers, but there's that steady roof and food thing again. Oh well.
