Trolling For Spambots
I had an interesting e-mail the other day. It said, I read your post on The Outer Limits. Impressed with your knowledge of the show. By the way, we have the first season for sale. It wasn't that choppy, I'm paraphrasing. I knew it wasn't a real person, I said in the post that I just got both seasons. I don't need to know about a sale.
That was interesting to me, how a piece of software read my blog and came back like that. I'm going to try and catch some more of them. Just for grins. I'll chat below about the gems I picked up last month, then I'll see what I find in the drag net.
Let's start with Cormac McCarthy's The Road. He really earned his Pulitzer. I told Wifey-Do she needs to take a break from Harry Potter and read this one. It's relentless and unsentimental.
Now for some CDs. Coffee barista and skateboarder extraordinaire turned me on to the Yeah Yeah Yeahs. Good stuff there. Picked up Close to the Edge by Yes. Great concept album. Must have been a double when it came out on vinyl. One song is a tad over eighteen minutes long. I remember back when a lot of artists, from Led Zeppelin to Iron Butterfly to Pink Floyd, released at least one lengthy tune. The radio station DJ could go and get dinner and a hair cut while it played.
This isn't a purchase, but it's funny. Watched the Fox Network, and heard about Al Gore's son being pulled over for going one hundred miles an hour in a hybrid car. Life can seem funny in a sagacious way.
Now I'll wait, check the e-mail, and see what the cat drags in.
